Forward school emails from Apple iCloud Mail

Set up selected-sender iCloud Mail forwarding on iPhone or the web, or forward a single school email to Tandlo.

Start in Tandlo

Open Settings, then School emails. Choose your school senders and copy your private Tandlo forwarding address. Use the full address shown in the app. If Tandlo asks you to confirm your email address or a sender, complete that step before testing.

Start with one school email containing a clear date. Check the child, date, time and tasks in Tandlo before saving. Reading emails uses AI. Free has a one-time starter allowance of 20 AI uses per family. Family includes 250 AI uses per family each billing month. See current pricing and availability.

Apple Mail or iCloud Mail?

Apple Mail is an app that can show several email accounts. These automatic rules are for your iCloud mailbox. If you read Gmail or Hotmail in Apple Mail, use that provider's forwarding guide instead.

Set up a rule on iPhone

  1. Open Settings → your name → iCloud → Mail → iCloud Mail Rules.
  2. Tap Add Rule and give it a name, such as School emails to Tandlo.
  3. Set the message condition to the school's sending address.
  4. Choose the forwarding action and enter your private Tandlo address.
  5. Add the rule. Allow up to 15 minutes for a new or changed rule to take effect, then check a new matching email.

Menu wording depends on your iOS version. If the rule controls are missing, use the web option below. See Apple's iPhone rules guide.

Set up a rule on iCloud.com

Open iCloud Mail in a browser. Open Mail settings, choose Rules and add a rule matching the school's sender. Choose forwarding and enter your Tandlo address, then save. Repeat for other school senders.

Use a sender rule rather than the separate Mail Forwarding option, which forwards all your mail. Apple's guides cover filtering rules and the difference from whole-mailbox forwarding.

Forward one email from Apple Mail

Open the school email, tap the reply arrow and choose Forward. Paste your Tandlo address and send. This is also a useful first test before creating an automatic rule.

Stop forwarding

Remove the school forwarding rule in iCloud Mail Rules or the web Rules settings. Check each rule if you added several senders.

Only have one email? Ask Tandlo

Copy the relevant email text into Ask Tandlo, or choose Photo for a screenshot or letter. You can also use Share and choose Tandlo where your app offers it. Check the suggested details before saving. Adding a plan does not send a reply, pay a fee or give school consent.

Check the first result

If nothing arrives, compare the address you pasted with Tandlo's current address and check the school's actual sender address, including any school platform. A message that only links to a portal may not contain the dates; open it and bring the relevant text or screenshot into Ask Tandlo instead.

Keep the original email for attachments and later changes. Check for an existing event before adding another copy.
