Forward school emails from Gmail
Set up a filter for school senders, with screenshots of Gmail settings and Tandlo's review screen.
Forward a school email to your private Tandlo address. Check the dates and tasks it finds, then save the ones you need. For regular updates, use a rule for selected senders. Tandlo does not need access to your whole inbox.
Start with the mailbox where your school emails arrive. Each guide explains your provider's forwarding options, how to find your Tandlo address, and how to review the suggestions before saving.

Create a rule for selected senders, with Microsoft settings examples and the next steps in Tandlo.
Use a rule in iCloud Mail. If you read another provider's mail in Apple Mail, use that provider's guide.
Start with one message and check Yahoo's forwarding limits before setting up anything automatic.
Open the email, choose Forward and paste your private Tandlo address. This is a useful first check before setting up anything automatic.
Use your provider's rule settings to forward new mail from the school or club senders you choose. Leave whole-inbox forwarding off. Remove the rule whenever you want to stop.
Forwarded content is processed by the services described in our privacy notice. Forwarding does not grant mailbox access. Direct Gmail connection is not a public launch feature.
It waits, unopened. Tandlo records who sent it, the subject and when it arrived, and shows you those three things. The message itself is not interpreted and is not readable through the app until you confirm the sender. If you do not, it is deleted after seven days.
No. School is where most families start, because that is where the dates and the last-minute changes come from, and it is why the address exists. The same address takes anything else you forward: a club, a swimming timetable, a party invitation that arrived by email. Tandlo reads any of them for dates and actions. Each sender still has to be one you have confirmed.
Tandlo checks the authentication your mail provider records against each message. A message that fails those checks is held with that reason given and cannot be accepted at all, whatever you do. Forwarding often strips the original result, so an unknown result is allowed once you have confirmed the sender, and Tandlo tells you which it saw.
The address is 24 random lower-case characters, so guessing it is not realistic. Mail to an unknown or retired address gets exactly the same reply as mail to a real one, so nobody can probe for valid addresses either. You can change your address at any time, and the old one stops working.
Thirty days for a message you accepted, seven for one still waiting on you, then they are deleted. Attached PDFs follow the message they came with. Your forwarded mailbox is private to your account, not shared with the rest of your household, and the sender list is yours alone. The privacy notice has the full detail, including where the receiving service runs.
Your organisation may block automatic or manual forwarding outside its account. Follow its rules. If the school can send to a personal address you control, use that address instead. Ask your account administrator if you are unsure.
Receiving and keeping approved forwarded mail is free on every plan. AI uses apply when you ask Tandlo to read an email and suggest dates or tasks. Free has a one-time starter allowance of 20 AI uses per family. Family includes 250 AI uses per family each billing month. Eligible early-access families receive six months of Family free. See the Free and Family plans and usage allowances.
